Michael Sontag was a new fashion designer for us.

He is well known in Germany, natch-- “as a high flyer with prospects” according to Elle magazine.

This young talent was also a finalist at the VERY competitive and prestigious Designer of Tomorrow award.

We thought his collection was exceptional and importantly, easy to wear for many different types of women (and their various body shapes).

Unlike most of the slim, fitted outfits, at times kicked out with lots of frou frou-that we saw, Sontag showed a spring palette of flowing silks in day to night ensembles, cut with enough of a line as to make it interesting. And obviously by a designer who understands how fluid fabrics move.

All attire we saw--- can work 'on there own' for a clean aesthetic (hello Calvin Klein of yore),

Or the separates lend themselves to any assortment of fancy bling or ethnic accessories that most gals already have in their wardrobe.

VERSATILITY!

Sontag hails from Germany….but we felt this collection had quite the international flavor…essentially borderless.

LAST THOUGHT: The kind of clothes that need to be tried on and seen on the body. On a hangar in a bricks and mortar shop…the clothes may not grab one’s eyeballs. IMHO.
