MvVO Art Fair Displays Hit The Streets

'Public' art digitally exhibited. The  MvVO Art Fair 2019-a select juried show of works by individuals employed in the advertising industry-harkens back to the genius inspiration of Andy Warhol's embrace of art/commerce...but in a very 21st century way. Literally the brain child of founder & CEO Maria Van Vlodrop -this annual exhibition/sale- electronically lights up this year ...and will be seen by  hundreds of thousands of humans-courtesy of a link up with 140 UES-Lincoln Center-midtown Manhattan's LinkNYC kiosks (May 1-4, 5-7PM) + gallery group shows. PLUS: adding more wow to the wow architectural transit (tourist) hub Oculus-on its hall length massive digital screens, in downtown Manhattan throughout the month of May. Coinciding with Art NewYork  (Pier 94), Frieze New York  on Randall's Island, NYCxDesign  (May 10-22), and collaborating with sponsors like the non-profit Downtown Alliance -and lead sponsors  Westfield WTC+NBC Universal-t...

Luxury: Custom Made

Part 3 Some folks  relish the process ----the time needed to laboriously create/fabricate a something (or experience) by hand, by slow multi-steps. And understand the value-and obtain great satisfaction-from the end result. Others might need a nudge "...to spend a little money..." as recounted by Brian Sawyer ( Sawyer/Berson ) in the enviable image driven showroom presentation, Custom Luxuries - during the D&D Building 's Fall Market 2018 open house. For others who are short on time (or patience) -stunning one of a kind or limited edition possibilities exist ready to buy/deliver at well edited establishments such as Benoist Drut's Maison Gerard  -in which to "build a room around." Perhaps the most audience excitement was for the exhibitor showroom itself- where the event took place, DEDAR Milano . You'd think they were giving away Halloween candy (or authentic espresso shots)...the audience at the Dendar Showroom hosted presentation Cus...

As Seen on 64th FL. 1WTC In Memory of the Victims of 9/11

Tyranny is old, cruelty is ancient, stupidity is immortal, Liberty, Honor, Dignity and Self-Control are all new in the history of man. We have been assaulted and overcome; Thousands of times all hope has almost been lost in the universal chaos of blood, fear, ruin and oppression, But we cannot die, for man has seen and heard these ideals before and no man will completely abandon that which has once saved him and made him respect himself. Perhaps the ruin will come, the death, and the despair, but out of it, out of the fury and darkness where the terrible struggle has taken place, will come the final liberation, the final faith, the final true democracy, The Final Peace for all Man In memory of the victims of 9/11/01 -Steve Cavazzi     Local 7 Marble Setters Amen

HANRO of SWITZERLAND+ DAVID FOOTE-Whitney Museum Celebration

In our inbox... Hanro of Switzerland invite you to the unveiling of David Foote for Hanro   a commissioned mural to celebrate the Meatpacking District’s evolution into a neighborhood of world class art, and preview of Foote’s next fine art exhibit, Open Face Saturday May 2nd 10am – 8pm The Hanro of Switzerland Flagship 806 Washington Street New York City Refreshments will be served and our 20% discount lasts all weekend long.   Hanro has commissioned the fine artist, illustrator and feature film director  David Foote   to create a 65-foot mural in it's flagship Washington Street store. Typical of Foote's eccentric, creative vision, the curved mural's complex technique -- a seamless, street-art-inspired collage applied with wheat paste to a custom built elevated surface -- rivals it's innovative design. Foote incorporated the lace pattern of Hanro's iconic garments into his portraits of the Hanro "woman."  Up close, one would notice that...

Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic LIVING PAINTINGS Artwork of the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

never static-gestural swirls of colors/images bring to mind Abstract Expressionist painters…whom Mestrovic admires greatly  Tribeca Hotel Not your Joshua Light Show going on here-(from back in the days)...Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic's living paintings…are elegant, abstract-ethereal imageries that from what we gather-are  composed on a light box, manipulated by hand gestures, specially lit…and captured---very hands-on/hands-crafted…a fluid multi-media/realized inks-filmed overtime thorough a proprietary process= kinda performance piece-that reminds us of  Jackson Pollock ---in a kind of way. Visually arresting artwork created by a guy we'd could talk with about art with a capital "A"…all night…or just as easily grab a beer and hang out with- at a ball game-though being an Argentinian native…make that fûtbol. For a preview of works specifically commissioned by the Council of Fashion Designers  and creative agency Laird+Partners ---that conju...

Industria Studios, NYC The site of many a fashion show (and shoot) on a freezing cold night- hosted a well attended event- benefiting the Costa Verde International School…a Green School Alliance non-profit, pre-k through middle school on Mexico's west coast…that easily warmed the hearts of bidders. steep walk up lined with photographs donated by rather well known photographers -Anne Menke  and a slew of fashion names like Helena Christensen-model, photographer, mom.
