the  inspiring  Bethany Lyons of Lyon's Den Yoga studios- Power Yoga-we felt the "heat' in our muscles…. How do you salute the sun...  " Mind over madness " yoga---major muahs goes to our lived in the most apparel brand ATHLETA and the Times Sq. Alliance….in their annual, we hope forever sponsorship of Solstice in Times Square-June 21st…saluting the sun and the longest day of the year. "pre-event" entertainment-demo-four gals worthy of Cirque du Soleil... All told---about 10,000 yoga practices---in one hour sessions starting at 5:30 AM through 9PM. striking a pose …lots of cameras everywhere NOTICE---wearing Athelta and the apparel holds up with comfy stretchy fabrics…flattering on all body shapes. We chatted with Bethany Lyons afterwards…we wondered why yoga is so dominated in this country by female enthusiasts…she felt the nutty crunchy ---and 'girly' (our word) stereotypes of all the differe...

Check check check check check... The Longest Day of The Year Beautiful blue skies and   sunshine (thank-you weather G-ds!) Crowds of people---not pushin'+shovin'  at the crossroads of the world--- really NOT in a hurry...but taking a deep breath ... Good subway karma...that got us there right in time :) And a big MUAH to our fav athletic brand of performance wear- ATHLETA---for once again sponsoring an amazingly successful free all day yoga fest...played out through the Broadway Plazas-from 43rd-46th streets. Cameras were snapping everywhere...including moi .... from 7:30 to 9PM..classes by major yoga instructors ---Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee, and Douglass Stewart-the visionary co-founder of Solstice in Times Square Athleta model/athlete Drisana Carey led the masses at the early AM session downward dog---- there were yoga instructors throughout ready to help All ages participate...JUST like the sign reads ...
