Carrie Hammer Runway Show-Role Models Not Runway Models

-Fashion Law Institute-Fordham University-Lincoln Center/NYC There are all sort of  professional jobs ( dress for the job you want, not the job you have cliché )-and all sorts of role (runway) models---and it took a FASHION LAW bootcamp grad to deftly delve into both environments---with Carrie Hammer's runway debut during the NY Fashion Week S/S 2015 season. Kudos…to this talent ---for passing the  Fashion Law Institute program-ceritificate earned- and the scrutiny of fashionistas and enthusiasts in attendance…and scoring the inaugural Tory Burch-Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses funding competition. IMO=Season-less, year round professional clothes at great prices (dresses are $395) with sleeves and hems custom fitted…NICE. ALSO nice-take the guest work out of clothing sizes via email requests with a bit of 411 -or opt for real custom fitting by a stylist-an option which is awesome if the typical size range of 0-36 is not YOU. http://www.carriehammer.com ...

FASHION LAW INSTITUTE: The Spectrum of Style-4th Annual Symposium Part 2

Fordham Law School, NYC Part 2 Usually our conference summaries get posted PDQ-but the next panel-got brain cells so fired up/on …we ended up spending meaningful moments-texting pals with USA trademarked businesses- about--- YES... Another YEESH moment. Ignited within all of about 30 seconds clocked- by a panel-skillfully moderated by Prof. Scafidi- on name/trademark registration in China-a first to file jurisdiction. Welcome to a well-trenched, and IMO rather savvy entrepreneurial population who register trademarks/cybersquat - names of the famous, semi-famous, infamous and well just about every label name that might ever be sold within its borders. Ha-no wonder one needs a legal team-here and over there . AND-having lived all over the world-values vary..and acceptable business practices all vary too. Nothing personal. And hello-welcome to how the planet operates…maybe not fair by most accepted standards…but 'fair' by other not agreed upon standards. ( WTO memb...

Fashion Law Institute® 4th Annual Symposium: The Spectrum of Style Part 1

Fordham University Law School, NYC April 4, 2014 To attempt to summarize an all-day conference where the five panels were so brilliantly 'stocked' with informative and engaging experts ---AND---some rather meaningfully priced talent-that being legal practitioners with collective billings per hour- more than a year's law school tuition… …would be like trying to even score high enough LSATs to get admitted into the conference host. Highlights were truly every utterance…beginning with the head of the Fashion Law Institute® -Professor Susan Scafidi ---introducing the modules: (1) Green Light: Seeking Sustainable Style (2) Jewel Tones: From Conflict Minerals to Multi-Destination Orders, Compliance is Key (3) Whitewash: Fashion Diversity, On and Off the Runway (4) Red Flag: Are You A Victim of Unauthorized Name Registration in China? (5) Silver Screen: Licensing Links Film & Fashion With keynote address and reception by fashion/lifestyle designer Sigrid Olsen....
