 CRAFTED BY LEE, WRANGLER, KONUS We get a Miley C moment with these fab denim overall jumpers - "Shortfall"-in Aquarius...Crafted by Lee (exclusive to Target)...doesn't deliver till Spring '17-but we LOVE it as a year round apparel must-pair with wool tights/turtleneck/boots in cooler temps, over bikini bathing suit-with flip-flop-for the other extreme of weather. Some wardrobe staples we saw this week-are multi-month wear- to wear wherever -doesn't break the bank, has built-in 'cool' -and delivering in denim and basic neutrals...have layer on/under +dress-up potential. via GIPHY

NYFW Highlights SS'2017 : LANYU, RUNA RAY, LRS

Part One: The Dock,  Skylight at Moynihan Station  ( 360 West 33 rd  Street) LANYU   SS17 collection was inspired by the feminine and pure quality of the magnolia flower, and incorporated the Su embroidery technique, a traditional technique that has been handed down for generations in the designer’s family and is celebrated for its elegancy and photorealistic quality. With a nod to LANYU’s bridal couture roots versatile and playful ready-to-wear styles were featured alongside bridal pieces including tops, bottoms, cropped blazers, and dresses in a soft pastel color palette. Off-the-shoulder and plunging neckline tops, in addition to dresses with lace and embroidery accents and floor length gowns were shown in luxurious fabrics including various types of silk.  Olivia Palermo,  Whitney Port,   Camren Bicondova,  Vietnamese model,  Jessica Minh Anh  and musician  Yundi Li  graced the front row.    ...

Media Preview/NYC Runway collection-NY Fashion Week Rugged outdoor and sporty brands have embraced the urban marketplace -and the millions of customers looking for inspired everyday wear-years before the so-called athleisure phenom got coined...but now the pile-on for those consumers is ginormous...thanks in part to new ways of selling to that audience, collabs with the fab, and getting the buzz out. We/ve been to enough trade shows over the years, previewing the wares (wears) of apparel/accessories/footwear brands...looking to extend their company logos beyond the items worn by the much fewer in numbers, elite high performance bunch...with mixed feelings on-and about- if they succeeded in the fashion realm with a lot of the offerings. When it comes to previewing Lacoste though, no doubts ever come to mind from this original performance brand...that over the DECADES has refined its sportif chic MO into a cohesive editorial vision for its many assets/licenses... like ...
