Last summer’s celebration was so much fun- that this confab of movers and shakers, Berlin style, put on by Gala Magazine is an outing we knew not to miss.
For Statesiders, Gala Magazine is a ‘printed on newsprint,’ lifestyle read that’s chock full of great pics and tasteful short commentary on the comings and goings of celebs, models, royalty (hey, it’s Europe), fashion and beauty products, major charity events and this week, sadly, Michael Jackson.
It was a sunny warm day---and guests had the difficult choice of which delicious buffet tidbit to sample while sipping champagne on the jammed outdoor courtyard, kitted out with tables, loungers and couches- protected with oversized umbrellas…
…or in an air-conditioned upstairs room with a handsome wooden, mirror backed bar plying espresso drinks.
We had a terrific conversation with Maybelline New York’s Top Creative/Artistic guru-Boris Entrup---who was so busy every time we were backstage.
He was particularly keen on the High Heel Mascara (sold as Stiletto in the USA) that magically lengthens and conditions without clumping, stays put…but easily washes off.
Green Antique Jade eyeshadow with a High Pearl sheen are also a favorite shade of his for Spring 2010
SARAH NURU -GERMANY's NEXT TOP MODEL
We also ran into our buddy Gerrit Schulz who has worked the fashion shows in Paris and New York as well as Berlin. Here is was magically conjuring up luscious locks for all, courtesy of L'Oreal.
He raved about the new Shu Uemura Art of Hair products (must try).
As mentioned in our Anja Gockel’s clip, we had a nice chat with this major talent…and her staff.
We loved her outfit …and the necklace by
Zara Lea La Motte.
SPECIAL MENTION:
Two talented musicians played separately…Mariha
and Dennis Lisk…both backed by full bands.
They deserve a broader audience. Even brunch attendees who were not familiar with either singer/songwriters, gathered round, entranced by the tunes.
SPECIAL THANKS: Talented Maybelline New York makeup artist Sandra Cevtert who gave us a weather proof maquillage. (Pictured with Boris).
SPONSERS: Yalook.com and the clever faces shaped from clothes… and LG ELECTRONICS
