Backstage at
Stephens Burrows was controlled...models there on time, hair/make-up, nails
DONE without the last minute rush panic we see a lot during NYFW.
Interviews given backstage centered on the signature knits-this year inspired by chevrons-a geometric shape representing "the ups and downs in life"---

Make-up featured the classic dark smokey eyes/red lips...that worked perfectly for the collection.
Melanie Mills is an in-demand make-up artist to the stars, specifically
Dancing with the....who got the models all glittery glamourous ---using several brands including her own... the smoothed on like lotion, Gleam Body Radiance bronzers for the glow (and full of anti-aging ingredients like the anti-oxidant endowed, brown seaweed/Japanese green and white tea extracts, jojoba seed oil, moisture loaded olive oil, soothing aloe extract) and fab Lip Radiance lip glosses (7 colors in all) for a long-lasting shiny pout.

"They approached me," Burrows told us about the collaboration with RAVEN for a line of dressed up, tailored denim. LOVE...very 70's in a way---this dark rinse with signature Burrows' red top stitching.

Fashion Journalist Robin Givhan gets the scoop from Burrows. She is writing a book on the Palais du Versailles staged Fashion Show in 1973, that managed to ignite a world wide wake-up call to Black models (who walked exclusively) and American designers like Burrows, Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta |
