The energy at Milk Studios during NYFW is creatively buzzy-it's smaller than the uptown tents-and in general-younger, edgier labels show at this runway/presentation locale.
Backstage at the Carlos Campos New York presentation, lead hairstylist Ceasar Ramirez (TopManagement with DopDop Salon)...used Davines products to work with the guy models' natural hair texture...for a "romantic" but still "man's man...edgy rugged look."
"It's not over coiffed, " Ramirez told us..."...but with some dewiness to it."
Well groomed with a bit of tussle-we were channeling English boarding school chaps looks..effortlessly well groomed and put-together...but not like our fingers would come up with a pile of goop if we ran our hands through their hair.
We also had a nice chat with make-up artist Karlo Karlo---who gave us a tutorial on just how much works goes into looking "natural." Ha ha.
"Men get neglected...they need to feel handsome" the MAC make-up artist proclaimed. For this show "spot" make-up -a custom blend for each guy---hence the artist palette....was used to dab on areas that need it-i.e. get rid of red undertones. Then the areas were "sealed" with a powder...and then skin was blotted to remove all shine...as all those lights make any shine look greasy on camera.
For the brow-hairs were brushed up...and tinted a bit to make darker ...
...and a bit of shine was applied to lashes.
For lips-male models got applied with a moisturizing lip balm mixed up with a burgundy tint.

The OI/OIL multi-functioning hair treatment styling products-loved so much we snagged a bottle--with Amazon rich Roucou oil from Fair Trade sources:-http://news.davines.com/en/ |
