We ‘discovered” NO EXCESS at a Menswear ENK tradeshow last July---and felt the hip designs had a bit of distinctly European swagger---attire that is more like what we see at Berlin’s Bread & Butter Tradeshow---than a typical American show.
Particularly in the cut (Euro is definitely slim) ---and graphics on the casual wear separates.
Recently we took in some of NO Excess’s (a Dutch brand btw) --- early and mid Spring 2011 items and liked what we saw…
And felt Americans would like it too…starting with no in your face logos---something that Europeans/Japanese/Chinese seem to like but American men we think are totally over ‘it.’
A terrific waxed cotton jackets that’s water resistant…
Cardigans are still selling...
Masculine washed denim…
Best selling cotton canvas pants---that are super comfy with a lived in feel that isn’t sloppy. Available in tan or navy…we thought the pocket details were perfectly placed.
Lots of tees are showing up ---starting in February…
One of our favorites…. a V neck ‘layered’ with stripes…. ribbed details---called a “Twofer.”
American ease in vintage/faded plaids
Woven plaids…
Later on for March deliveries…we saw plenty of shorts…
Beige linen and our fav---the Board shorts…cargo styles with loads of pockets….
We like the striped details on the hem…. of the button downs.
Cargo with seams…
Price Range----$120’s for button downs---up to $235 for the waxed cotton jacket---what we would call premium contemporary.
NO EXCESS is carried in the fashion forward boutiques---like Kitson’s Fred Segal -LA French Corner , Rothmans-NYC . Bill Hallman Boutique Atlanta
