Camper is a design driven, fun, trendy and eco minded collection of sweet urban and casual friendly kickers.
The woven ARIADNA
Walls of shoes lined part of the Spanish based company's NYC showroom- with shoe laden tables here and there-highlighting several imaginative lines/projects/styles...
And thematically---we enjoyed the carnival with yum cotton candy.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Always for us, the Toðer Project- an assortment that are perhaps the most creative/fashion-y of Camper's many offerings.
Four collections were on display---designed in collaboration with Veronique Branquinho, Bernhard Willheim, Romain Kremer, and Jason Morrison.
Camper is known and rightly so--- for its comfort construction...and new products keep that MO going. Even the shoes with heels are cushion-y.
The ESCLOPs are clog-like and brand new for S/S 2011--- with a soft footstep and a cushioned insole. It features the famous 360 degrees stitching construction (an industrial process that requires expert training and craftsmanship,,,,with the leather if the upper joins directly to the sole, minimizing the use of glue and maximizing flexibility).

Other new kickers...the KLICK...a casual classic sneaker, the INDUSTRIAL RAIGUER with a hidden mini-interior wedge for extra comfort, and the ATOM HIDRO...a futuristic gal's lightweight sandal with a single piece of material as inner and outsole (less materials-eco).
The Hybrid collection is stylish and in many ways, eco-friendly---made of recycled rubber outsoles, insoles of cork, recycled PET elastic laces, vegetable tanned leathers, and lining made of organic cotton.
Affectionately labeled th PEU NARA for the feminine model, the sporty PEU CROSS and the easy wear sneaker the PEU RAMBLA.
KLICK
The PELOTAS SKIN is another extremely light shoe made of super thin premium leathers and the PELOTAS XLITE a casual kick with a light EVA outsole for extra comfort.
Comfort rules the freshly designed shoes that make up the P87 cushioning system with an insole of 87 balls that absorb impact. the new KLICK and the K3 a casual vintage upper with rock m roll attitude and easywear details like a zipper for a comfortable fit...and a round stitched cupsole.
One if our fav looks gest "quality execution" to a "T"---the KIM is feminine with a flexible for all day comfort and a cute striped heel...that's is nautically fun.
The PEU CIRCUIT is a neat take on a ballerina shoe with a semi-glove construction and a bi-colour rubber outsole...a touch that is very cool and function gripping.
The LEIA and the CODI also has dancing vibes with a hidden mini heel in the former-that ensures a correct postural stance...and a thick elastic band up top -a visual element in an otherwise simple shoe.
