We skipped a season of FURLA previews---so maybe we missed the addition of rather zestful handbags from the high end Italian made Furla--- for Fall 2010.
Spring 2011 literally blossomed with bold colors, innovative materials,
---whimsical designs as well as more classic profiles and traditional silhouettes---all impressing the Editors in a downtown retail space set-up just for the preview.
There were several thematic lines for Furla...
We started our viewing with the Leitmotiv for TALENT HUB collection...established by Furla as a collaboration with your designers ---resulting in fun haulers based on travel/fairy tales.
Two young guys, Juan Caro and Fabio Sasso are the anointed this season with a very cool collection based on the iconic French book, Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince).
Even the lining is creative and easy easy to wipe clean, the bags practically shaped including a tote.
A TECHNO NATURE palette and dense tropically hued prints are really eye-catching. And so Euro to us...the mixed metaphor of combining the modern edgy with earthy foliage.
Materials such as rubber and textured leathers in bold colors are unique...
----as well as soft neutrals that pay reference to the dessert and savannah landscapes.
More traditional bags---the kind we buy and use for a decade, at least---get refreshing tones for the warmer temps.
---WHAT ELSE:
Natural materials are just perfect for summery sandals and some of the nicest woven/crotchet beachy totes we have seen..in smart stripes, with hardware closures and handsome leather trims--- that make them very chic resort carry-alls as well as spacious haulers for everyday gear.
The footwear runs the gamut from snake print leather, elegant forms bumped up with fun colored rubber soles...
....Love the above mix of rope trim and snake print leather--- and micro-mesh options for glam feminine style that is a bit more ...in a good way, than a basic strappy sandal.
