Through a series of fortunate events, we scored a gift card to Lucky Brands, a denim-based casual line of clothes for an on trend customer.
Owned by Liz Claiborne actually, we ventured to the Columbus Avenue UWS store...and really liked a lot of the merchandise.
Boot cut jeans in dark rinses, peasant blouses and knit ponchos. The Age of Aquarius.
Cargo shorts...fitted snap button top with eyelet details---we really like this casual/rugged look.
Prairie/Americana,
Workwear references for everyday. Faded stripes on a feminine top.
Textured sweaters...thick and delicate crotchet...
Plaids ---now faded to a wearable neutrals...and rolled collar sweaters for guys. Nice.
Ethnic prints done credibly,
The major trends for the upcoming season are all there...
Denim...rolled up, looser than skinny's that ruled in the Fall,
Interesting no boyfriends---a cut we never got...so unflattering...
...but also no jeggings...a style that is so easy to wear, we think gals will not give them up. There is a reason leggings keep on going...
We bet the print world will start featuring Lucky Brands---priced below the premium labels like "7"...but sharing a lot of design features at value contemporary prices.

Footwear---70's wedges...very comfortable kickers
Denim styles came in quality materials...with all the popular cuts (low/high rise, jeggings, boyfriend)...though the fits/sizes were uneven. Still, we could tell that this brand had a lot of HIP.
For the S/S 2011 Editor's preview in the Garment Center...we saw that Lucky brands still got game...
