WENGER Fall/Winter 2012/13 Footwear and Sport Glasses

Red Peak Alpenglow
Outdoor Retailer/SLC

Wenger has expanded its outdoor line-up of products this season with new adventure travel luggage, solar chargers, and knives...

AND SHOES!

Waterproof with raised embosses somewhat like a duck boot, this rugged leather, all terrain kicker "follows the biomechanics of the foot" and  has radial CVX edge that reduces pronation---and a cushioning EVA midsole.

grippy rubber outsole

The minimalist trend in these lifestyle slip-ons/casual lace-ups- all have more than a true barefoot shoe with sturdier non-marking outsoles--- and are all more versatile too, imo.

With a single density outsole and try density insole, this casual trail shoe has enough style for city streets.

Halftrack-a deconstructed approach shoe with nice contrast stitching=wear it to yoga or around town.

Kabali

With a heritage in walking shoes, Wenger "cross pollinates" with the Kabali ---that works for yes, the original goal of a comfortable strider...but also can keep day hikers comfy on the trail with durable grippy outsoles and supportive midsoles.

"wedging" each color in a different density

Tugela
We thought these old school climb/hike kickers---with multi layered lug outsoles-in a rich brown ---are handsome lifestyle option and for travelers ---are good one shoe only option.

Designed for active outdoor enthusiasts ---these new sport glasses are specifically crafted for different sports-with anti-glare red glasses for winter-like cross country skiing-with a wrap around, double lense with thermal effects that prevents fogging, a wide open lens for water endeavors-with reflection free, polarized filters, biking-extra wind protection with vents on the outer edges, and running-extra ventilation with holes in the nose area and an open lens for better air circulation-with a sweat bar available----and all are 100% UVA and UVB protection.

The frames are the same multi-taskers--- with a quick turn of a key on the frame easily changing the lenses depending on what one is doing.

We tried-and the lenses do snap out that easily...and are prescription friendly too-with the sport lenses going over the prescription ones.

We were really impressed---and learned that industry designer Beate Gabelt---crafted the collection using TR 90 shatterproof polycarbonate. Really-we steeped on them and they didn't crack!

PLUS: Heat/cold resistant, nose piece adjustable and non-slip, every frame fits every lens---and is a balanced anatomical wrap for no pressure points. Nice.
Priced really well-the lenses are $54.95 each- and frames in four colors are $174.95 apiece.
