LILA HORN Fall/Winter 2012

words/images Judith Ecochard

"...a modern approach to hand block printed fabric on classic, feminine and comfortable silhouettes..." Lila Horn's (designers Lillian Barry and Helen Millson) ---separates were nicely done and we could see how these two Yale grad's love of travel-factored into a thoroughly versatile collection.

Deep tones---magenta, dusty purple, "plumberry," and a deep neon blue in richly colored silks- reflect Indian temples-an inspiration-and were executed via an ancient technique from that continent-according to the run of show---

The prints were also well done, artistically rendered...and the silhouettes modern classics.

Overall, we thought this was a terrific assortment of work wardrobe ready, dresses, leggings, and tops/pencil skirts.
