Sadick Dermatology, Park Avenue NYC

THE NEXT GENERATION

Consumers may be holding back (up) on the seriously pricey stuff…a house, a new car…a facelift (ha ha)…but during an hour long briefing on the innovative future of dermatology--- precisely delivered by Dr. Neil Sadick…we were actually inspired by the latest breakthroughs…cosmetic and medical-wise.

And truly wonder if the facelift is fast becoming relegated to the realms of ancient history…like Windows 5 or (insert your most hated piece of virus/spam laden software here).

A noted practitioner, teacher and top notch researcher/published author, Sadick is always on the cutting edge of dermatological/ medical technology. We rely on him to sort through the science of it all…and to recount for us 'physics for poets' types- what’s truly promising.

Some Highlights (and OF COURSE---do your own research and solicit advice from qualified medical professionals!!!!!!!!)

SHINSO® of JAPAN SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

“The Beauty Of Nature. The Miracle of Science”

Living in harmony and embracing natural elements endowed with healing powers is the intrinsic MO of countries steeped in a Buddhist/Shinto tradition.

With this in mind, we made the acquaintance of a ‘healer’ and founder of Shinso® Skin Care Products--- Kawasaki Sensei…at a Park Avenue facility...a few weeks back.

And we use the word “healer” meaningfully---

WHAT IT IS:

First developed by Kawasaki as a natural means to cure himself of a crippling disease, Shinso (means ‘deeper layer’) is now available as a readily absorbable essence and spray mist. Chock full of rare (and costly) ingredients like wild rose, deep seawaters sourced from the Sea of Japan and the Italian mountains –naturally filtered and loaded with rejuvenating minerals, and the protein Human Oliopeptide-1 (EGF, Epidermal Growth Factor), a protein molecule made of amino acids, the serum soothes and regenerates skin cells.

Our experience with the serum was positive. Kawasaki himsel…

ALTMAN BUILDING, New York Fashion Week

Big Apple dweller Loris Diran, sourced sunny childhood memories of Coney Island for his colorful Spring 2010 men’s and women’s RTW collection.

Impeccable tailoring, polished details and luxe fabrics fashioned into flattering AND wearable silhouettes ---are positive attributes a Diran customer counts on.

The show opened up with warm weather casual daywear separates and a fun poppy print chiffon Nadia Dress...all in bright tones (poppy red, canary yellow)...and often paired with urbane neutrals.

Walking shorts in linen, a deep v neck navy cashmere pullover, and crisp cotton twill pants (for guys) are our idea of versatility… dress up leisure that defines American sportswear at its best.

Our top pick was a cocktail frock---a stunning Sunflower Satin Bow Dress (Look #16). We can see some celeb walking the red carpet in this.

We attended a bunch of Holiday Fairs/tradeshows with small to large companies putting out the merch.

For the music lover, LYRIC CULTURE, a clothing company (see our write-up for the 411) that magically interprets our fav song lyrics ( Disco- Beatles- Jimmy Hendrix etc)---into eye catching graphics---has a new jewelry line to go with the on trend tees, hoodies, scarves and belt buckles.

As with the garments, the licensed lyrics are strikingly re-interpreted---this time on all metal and metal/leather cuffs, charm bracelets, rings and cool guitar pick necklaces for men and women. A terrific way to send out the timely message: “All You Need Is Love,” “Give Peace A Chance,” or “Satisfaction.”

INFO: Prices Range from $36-$85 LYRIC CULTURE

For the Neptunes and Mermaids in your life, marine botanicals and minerals that work will surely be welcome.
