TSE is a high end cashmere focused collection of "long lean silhouettes or swinging A shapes," to quote the run of show-given out at the intimate presentation for Fall 2011, at the company's main showroom downtown.
Last year's collab with Jason Wu got oodles of press---but we actually loved the core collection designed by Jess Groom and Dushane Noble...and our hopes for exquisite separates of plush, multi-ply cashmere and soft blends (and mercerized merino and matte viscose)...were more than met.
Lucky us, we got there really at the tail end of the time block---and missed the masses...
... allowing us to really admire the precise cuts and serene styling---an homage to the simplicity of luxury design by the 60's era maestro, Pierre Cardin (not the bundle of licensed products that ensused).
We were reminded of the late great Geoffrey Been to---with a nod to geometric, architectural elegance of hsi clothes-worn by confident women worldwide.
Collaborations are in TSE's DNA and jewelry designer Brian Crumley ---who we know from VPL's RTW shows...was commissioned to create hand blown pieces that fit the shape of it all.
Autumnal neutrals and soft shades of berry, gold amber and camel---are easy wardrobe additions.
We know a collection totally gets the bases loaded when we take an elevator down with some of the models...all of us preparing to exit into the freezing cold...and all of us wishing we could have just borrowed some of those cozy warm items--- just previewed for the press.
