The Standard Hotel, NYC

New to us designer Suzanne Rae uses traditional garment construction learned while toiling for one of our fav Italian lines Costume National and Morgane Le Faye (NYC)--- her artful background for her Spring/Summer 2011 Collection that’s “beautiful and edgy.”
A western theme (Jack Kerouac’s On The Road) and Americana---like that first road trip driving across the great expanse of the West---- was thematically played out throughout the neutral toned presentation at the meatpacking district boutique hotspot, The Standard Hotel.
Silks and eco-friendly fabrics like hemp were used…and the long hemlines signaled a shift we saw throughout NYFW.

We were sorry we couldn’t stay for the entire presentation…but from what we saw…Suzanne Rae’s spirited separates should appeal to those gals with an eye to the romantic with some gritty edge of those fearless pioneer women.
