We always adhered to the Polly-anna like sentiment that ‘the Universe provides.’
Case in point…
We have been seriously swimming in a public pool 4x a week in preparation for a triathlon--- an event where the finish times of prior years seem ridiculously fantastic!
So now that our once brown locks are reddish and our skin oozes eau de chlorine- hours after a meaningfully fresh water hose down…we were just imaging what’s the next? Glowing in the dark?
Happy us--- when we got an email announcing -the newish (well since 2003)- series of products by SBR Sports Incorporated, a California based company…that has a collection of triathlon/sports oriented skin/hair care products targeting chlorine saturated individuals.
Specifically, we tried the “salon quality” TRISWIM SHAMPOO (8 oz for about $13.20)…with a fresh, authentic smelling citrus scent. We were concerned about the damage rendered by harsh pool chemicals …but this product, with healing organic Aloe and a vitamin cocktail of Pro-Vitamin B5 (Volume), A, C, and E…cleaned without stripping.
The big plus is the “five sequestering agents” grabbing the Chlorine chemicals-that can leave copper deposits in our hair (hence the dreaded green tinge!). And also eliminated that sickening odor by washing them out. Yes!
Apparently, it also helps saltwater swimmers’ locks...
Additionally we tried the soothing TRISWIM CONDITIONER (8oz $16.39)…that has a very similar citrus scent. We used a lot of the conditioner when we tried it on our long hair….and found that this creamy product rinsed out well, without the buildup. When our locks finally dripped dried dry…it all felt soft and moisturized, not dry and brittle. And looked shiny healthy, not brassy trashy.
NICE---the prices…and the new 64oz jugs (TriSwim Shampoo $79.15/TriSwim Conditioner $98.25)…we wish our gym had this.
HISTORY: …founded by Karen Allard, a certified triathlon coach, competitor and mom…so she gets the time crunch and need for products that WORK. And has posted swim drills on YouTube, accessed through the TRI SWIM site.
WE can’t wait to really use the new TRIGLIDE…a waterproof spray (smart, SMART) skin lubricant that we will use before we put that wetsuit on….
We gave it a test run spray on our arm…and it is odorless as billed, quick to ‘settle’ in, and came off with soap and water, Good for any area that chafes…we can think of many bicycle riders that can use this for long rides, and hikers on long treks.
Bonus Points…the packaging---one touch, continuous spray. An easy toss into that gym/transition bag.
