Given that the LACOSTE RTW shows that bi-annually romp the runways--- are always a must…

There’s ALSO always the footwear-- that really takes this brand to a higher level---and gobbles up the press accolades. Even hipsters who are allergic to logo anything--- like our too cool Manhattan nieces/nephews---the type that view the anywhere in America- Malls as  exotic oddities with too many strollers…. love/wear/collect this label. Much like we wear the tennis polo tops with everything.

FOOTWEAR FALL/WINTER 2010

Walking into the Soho Grand---besides knowing we’d want to check in for a month…we counted on liking the Lacoste collection in broad general terms.

a staff favorite

What surprised us was the number of posh/upscale footwear for men/women that are office friendly too--- nicely displayed on the front table as soon as we walked in.

Lacoste is what we would coin a lifestyle sportswear brand…but we think many of the boots and shoes we previewed have that city slicker finesse...

Men's slip ons with upper detail

A staple--the work boot with Vibram lug soles have a Lacoste spin…

Mad for plaid (L27s)

A moccasin inspired lace up coming to an Urban Outfitters near you…

Wedge heels…add a bit of height and comfort.

There are also several S/S favorites that get refreshed for Fall/Winter…in different colors and details.

WHAT’S NEW

DESERT BOOT ARONA…in soft suede, with the logo at ankle on outside. Nice touch…the white sole on some color waves gives it contemporary flair.

VINTAGE LUGGAGE INSPIRED CAPSULE COLLECTION

For guys, uppers from heavy waxed leather like the durable luggage that seems to survive better than all that ripstop nylon haulers we own.

With metal foil stamped logos distinguishing the group…Lacoste serves the

Ingaro with blanket-stitching around the vamp,

and Storm with metal eyelets and leather thong laces.

Apès ski for les femmes- just got a color boost bump with the Lacoste ARBONNE SKI kickers in vivid tones that’ll turn heads…even if one’s ability to surf the snow won’t garner a medal.

Made from synthetic nubuck and nylon uppers that protect against the wet stuff...it has a lacing system, similar to hiking boots--- with cords looped through D rings anchored at the heel and criss crossing up to the calves…plus wedge heels allowing for snug and comfy graceful entrances and exits--- without the icy wipeouts.

We think these are great urban additions too and the colors--- black, navy, dark red, and particularly white and bright yellow…are instant pick me ups to slosh yech weather.

TRAVEL LINE FOR GALS

BERTULLE is the highlight of this group that has us thinking glam loafers in soft primo leather ---in burgundy, black, or tan.

This style also comes in dark suede shades as well as yellow (nice)…and with just a hint of heel…we think these basic flats should give the ubiquitous ballets a rest.
