“…thought creates awareness—awareness creates action—and action creates change.”
Like many clothing labels for S/S 2010, Mission Playgroundsensibly narrowed their editorial focus to what they do best…colorful tees, and some separates for guys and gals that also sport the eye catching, edgy graphics.
We’ve always loved Mission Playground’s MO…as it sees itself as an “environmentally conscious clothing company that uses apparel as a vehicle for change.” Accordingly, certified organic cottons, sustainable packaging and nifty, sewn-in “Earth Tips” that are sassy/simple calls to action on how to “live in a manner that is friendlier to Mother Earth.”
And look good too.
BIG ECO NEWS: Mission Playground mission to “protect out playground, the earth…” goes one step further as its entire line is now Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) certified.
GOTS brings some of the highest standards ‘from farm to finished product’ for sustainable apparel, as every step (cradle to cradle) is incorporated into the ratings system. Mission Playground, thus raises the bar of eco-consciousness as even the manufacturing and supply chain processes get the eye.
It should be noted that everything we saw, the tees, boardshorts, cotton thermal tops, etc…were really well made. Durability is also factored in too as there’s little shrinkage and the garb lasts forever.
OTHER ECO NEWS: Reusable Totes-sold at cost $3.50.
