DAFFY’S BACK TO SCHOOL NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD FOR LESS

We got a review of what in the know kids will be wearing at the temporary pop-up shop stocked with cool merchandise form the discount retailer, Daffy’s.

We’ve written up the Daffy’s contest where one lucky creative type scores a wonderfully tricked out apartment at a bargain $700/month…

Well for those happily housed, bargains can still be found (for another week)…at the store located on the main floor.

We had a nice chat with buyers Olga Galan and Liliana Duryee who clued us in as to why the clothes and shoes were so on trend, high end and chic…like adults’ sophisticated “little looks.”

“The clothing is a reflection of who we are,” Galan told us. “I go to Italy four times a year.”

In fact, new shipments arrive weekly to Daffy’s northeast locales…and there’s actually a “trucker tracker” on the store’s websites so the devoted can time there shopping jaunts. Wow.

For children-cleaner silhouettes for Fall 2009 include sequins on daywear for girls, black, white and gray tones (for girls and boys), plaids-traditional and fashion forward, denim, argyle sweaters/vests, and a nod to the 60’s via peace signs and A-line cuts.

$59.99 originally $159.00

For the prices, the quality is unreal and the garments are in season too.

One of our favorite labels-Trussardi- was there…but we didn’t fit into anything.
