We always look forward to the
Lacoste media preview at the company's NYC offices ---it's always fun---and its a great way to see how integral the footwear is with the apparel collections-and accessories.

We began our tour of this multi-room display admiring the new satchels and carry-alls ...Lacoste has a sporty group of totes and backpacks in bold shades made of durable nylon---but we think the real bump-up is in the plush leather bags...perfectly sized for haulers carrying around their lives.

Available NOW and ---the new Country Flags collections-in men's ($165) and boys sizes ($98-croc is in flag colors on a white polo)...wha????? No women's? An oversight that needs to be corrected. In time for the WORLD CUP qualifyers.

Apparel was really well done this year...outerwear in particular-with storm proof jackets, and puffy down items with a lot of retro 80's style.
We review a lot of techy performance wear lines---and can appreciate practical features in a fashion brand ....like this terrific weather proof parka-oversized snap outer pockets, ski pass pocket on sleeve, wind flap snaps over solid middle zip, removable hood, on what felt like to us, solid DWR fabric. Handsome and functional!!!!

LACOSTE L!VE is coming into its own as a label---with more of a slim fit and we think a niche market aimed at tweeners/teeners.

The cuts and fits are slimmer-and the down quilted jackets hit higher up on the hip...with details more oversized=more attitude, imo.

Women's Lacoste
Sleek and chic...
Lacoste's Paris based, Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Batista channeled a lot of those sophisticated ski outfits from the 1960-s-70's (specifically the French 1966 ski team) ---finely knits ski sweaters and ribbed trousers-and refined them for city slickers. We thought ...wonderfully.
Naturally, the footwear was equally as great---this wedge suede low boots with knit cuffs-should do really well at retail---a versatile look.
