LINCOLN CENTER, NYC

This was one of our favorite shows during the NY Fall collections---and a large part of that---was the incredibly creative runway format.
With a kickin' rock and roll band by Mother Feather...balring up after an arty video with the clothes we were about to see...
Two runways---at 90 degree angles----held the models aloft----one by one...as they strolled out.
The wink-wink part was when after the models went off---after the first bunch of ensembles--- they THEN came back one by one---- in the same clothes---but on different persons in different order of humans...a fact we bet went unnoticed by most---but we thought was beyond clever!!!
Suzanne Rae has made a splash this year---she uses repurposed or sustainably made textured and smooth textiles/fabrics---and designs garments that fit well, drape well---- and have a modern attitude. We thought rather sophisticated...with dark hues, for the most part---in a mash of style inspirations---- Victorian Grunge, Gibson Girl meets street savvy modern gals.
We did not stay for the total show---but liked what we saw---there is a certain chic geek fashion sense here--- some nice staples like the camel wool cape coat, the silk flutter sleeve top---- and fun, flirty....silk and fringe gown.
