Inspired by classic American sportswear, menswear's tailoring and patterns ----the two years old Lands" End Canvas brand..showed "three big apparel" stories for women's Fall 2011:
(1) Sweaters. Say hello to 1960's Ivy-League inspired preppy knits....including this double neck sweater with buttons up the back...to wear as a layering piece on on its own.
Other terrific details---
(2) Woven Shirts-----terrific old school patterns and the basics shirts---button downs---a Lands' End canvas special---triple stitched for durability, buttons sewed on cross stitched double time....we love the comfy blue chambray---
---and some typical menswear and vintage prints that are "borrowed from the boys" and include really nice faded Day Lily (red-orangy)...but with feminine touches---like darts and seams to show a gals curves.
and
(3) Chino Pants---that will retail for about $68---available in many colors....and so timely as for Fall 2011---it seems there is the desire away from denim for tailored woven pants and chinos done well. Available in slim and relaxed fit-------and as always the details are key----like the enclosure button.
ALSO:
Footwear is well done too...retailing for around $88
WITH Chukka boots-and---Chukka boot wedges for gals
Clogs-in suede, leather and brilliant pops of color
Flats
Duck Boots
We cannot emphasize enough the quality of every Lands' End anything we have ever seen...it easily rivals other brands with a similar look that retail for about 30% more.

We liked the cord pants paired with sweater elbow patches...
Scarves
...and the belts skinny and great striped like a boy's tie.

Leather trimmed denim and solid messenger/school----polished shoulder haulers---classic
Navy inspired pea coats
Vests/jackets updated with high collars that ward off the cold...
plaid lined hood-nice touch |
And the denim is of a heavier weight 13.5 oz----from grown in the USA cotton. Nice-the zig-zag "sail" stitch on the pocket-a reference to Lands'End nautical heritage.
Sweatshirts get fancified---with fleece shawl collared options...and toggle buttons too.
100% wool blazers and this wonderful grey cape in merino wool ($139.50)---with a tapered waist, RMA little open ---a cold weather option with military flair. The waist cinches for a feminine fit too.
