With its stylish roots hailing from the glam Cote D'Azur, Façonnable-the French lifestyle company- has reinvigorated its USA presence with its own branded stores and garment placements in select department stores from coast to coast...
The preview was held in the New York based showroom overlooking Rockefeller Center---flooded with natural light...very nice.
This year, the tightly organized men's (and some women's) collections were grouped thematically---with different labels--- into:
Metropolitan: "Sleek outwear for urbane tastes" Dark colors like chocolate brown and charcoal dominate streamlined silhouettes in functional separates made from techy textiles...
Lodge "Inviting separates that bring comfort and class to weekend wear" (to the Manor born-we say)---lots of earthy tweeds, loden and army green, and rust colors in sturdy fabrics like heavy wool and washed jackets...
Campus: "College staples revisited for the elegant graduate" What we think of as very American Preppy--- attire with a bit of chic (not dorky) awash in navy, burgundy and purple tones---and prints like traditional pinstripes...
Mègeve: "Après ski never felt or looked so good" elegant casual attire just right for Aspen or the ALps---chunky cable knits, tailored puffer coats, Shetland wool jackets...in camel ivory tones that blend just so with the fluffy white snow...
...and the top of the line, European made--
Atelier: "Elite collections for men of discriminating tastes" ---or who don't know any better but are fortunate enough to have some smart person pull their clothes for them.
What we think distinguishes Façonnable from other similarly priced contemporary labels ---the fashion sophisticated--- sensibilities that are distinctly Euro ---the cuts, crisply fitted, perfectly tailored-no bunching around the shoulders of jackets, no sloppy, baggy profiles---
---the details...(cuff/hem linings, quilted/textured fabrics, leather trims, buttons, top fabrics),
---the quality (so well made---down to the last stitch of a double welt pocket)...
---and of course, this being a French label---there is a scarf for every look that ties an outfit together---or provides a color pop...
...plus ties too!
ACCESSORIES: Designed for each collection...
FYI: There's also eyewear, denim, and beachwear (Azur) collections.
