Leyla Piedayesh’s

---inspiration had us thinking about physics, the concepts of motion and contrast when we saw the Escher-like prints…in her terrific RTW S/S 2011.

But since the show opened with a live rendition of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” ---we were ALSO channeling the guru of Seattle grunge, Kurt Cobain if he were a) still alive, B) a stylish gal grown-up (no Courtney jokes here), and c) on holiday somewhere exotic…that required a rocker-edge but chic wardrobe.

THE SHOW:
Divided into sections---the ensembles will have artful, on trend types, wanting the coveted separates including sensuous flowing tops cut just so as to be sleek, balanced over straight cut, fitted shimmery minis, or the above striped pants (a nod to 60's Carnaby St. London...)

---body lovin' knitwear (her original claim to fame) in solid neutrals and stripes …and then the effortless elegant Atelier LaLa Berlin” by Leyla Pierdayesh.

Slim gals will love the figure enhancing silhouettes, with cutouts, graphic defining panel fabric inserts, and sparkling elements.

Patterns and prints are standouts---enhanced by the use of mixed materials---like silk tulle entwined in the knit (you need to see it to admire the ingenuity)…

...and layered sheer fabrics, a trademark since we followed her three years ago-

Spider's web knit top are are delicate and fierce.

And the muted colors of summer like sandy beige go well with the big, bold and beautiful---as in bright orange top…with soft coral shaded denim.

RED RED!

And black…of course.

Yummy.

BACKSTAGE—HAIR/MAKEUP

The L’Oreal Professional and Maybelline New York teams were going for a “fresh girl…out for a good time…at a party…a little bit wet, like she just got out of a swimming pool.

And to get the beach tousled hair, Tec ni Art line with  Fix Max---a versatile clear gel, and Force 6 Strong Strong Hold Gel--- was massaged in locks with fingers.

The makeup used is soon to launch ---Eye Studio-Kaleidoscope.”

And for hints of summer---the Terra Sun bronzer---nice packaging too.
