Pre-Fall collections are often reflections of delivery dates, not definitive declarations on when/what to wear, weather suitable…as indicated by this fantastic debut (to the USA) RTW collection by seasoned Moscow fashion designer,
Vassa. Year round options- the solid tone colors-in black, white, bold cobalt blue, and red-with a realistic astrakhan like fabric (animal friendly-yes!)…of the touchable fabrics- are beautifully tailored =clean and linear silhouettes…asymmetrical hems, cut-outs backs, dresses, skirts, tops and a sleeveless long vest that fashion wise, is a key wardrobe item, as of late.
LOVE-this Astrakhan print--on a sleeveless top, A line skirt |
Russia's exports in the fashion world, are increasingly getting respect outside its own borders-and the Vassa label-with 30 stores within-is a name to watch out for-in terms of sophisticated, minimalist internationally appealing, apparel. Epect to see her clothes in editorial features, soon.
Influences this outing-Russian artist Kazmir Malevich (1879-1935)-a pioneer of abstract geometric art-(Black Square-major opus) who was a catalyst for the avant-garde, Suprematist contemporary art movement in Russia.
