Live Lookbook Film by the designer-Paola Suhonen
"The Bridges of Madison Country" and travels to that corn-field laden state-inspired women's wear designer Paola Suhonen for her S/S 2014 collection.
Yes, that is the movie with Meryl Streep-as we concurred with like 10 people---fyi, based on the best selling book by Robert James Waller-set during the 1960's about a lonely Iowa living, Italian born farm wife who has a torrid fling with a visiting photographer, in town to document---of course-the bridges of Madison County.
We thought the best looks at this runway show were the pretty printed, crocheted, or dreamy lace trim frocks that hinted at that era. Loosely fitting-for hot steamy days, the ensembles were complete-with hats, gloves and bunched up ankle socks atop footwear -two tone lace-up bootie, sweet pumps and wedge sandals.
Appropriately... the models walked to the folk tinged tunes by iconic musicians like Simon and Garfunkel and Neal Young...capturing an era of melancholy and under the surface moods ready to erupt-much like the Ivana Helsinki prints "Iowafly" and "Until We Meet Ago"that were in the collection.
Style wise the hair was intricately braided---with loose tendrils to soften things up-by lead stylist Matthew Curtis for TRESemmé....and the makeup-soft everything just about--- focused on burgundy lips...by AJ Crimson.
Another fav look-it reminded us of what our mom/aunts wore---this denim flared Ivana Helsinki Jeans -with vintage-y tank top.
The shoes-also by Ivana Helsinki & KooKenkä, the accessories-including the sheer wide brim hats that worked the boho mood-also by the designer.
