Empire Hotel, NYC
Open daily for anyone willing to line up for free express minis and touch-ups...bloggers got the Allure Lounge all to themselves for a morning meet/greet with Allure magazine's associate editor Sophia Panych.
Our chat with her about two beauty trends...
Nail Art---not seen on the runways for the NY Spring/Summer 2014 shows---unlike prior seasons when we saw a lot of it. Maybe the designers want the focus REALLY on the clothes...
BUT-Nail Art is here to stay---the companies that make what it takes to get Instagrammed are lovin' the trend. Plus imo---nails are an accessory now-like a new handbag-but way more affordable. A great fun way to dress up a LBD. And with the stick-on versions readily available, non arty types can rock the look too without paying major $.
Brows---work with what you naturally have...versus a lot of the artificially drawn-in lines we see around town right now. Looks a tad worm-y to us.
Panych herself told us how it took her a year to grow-in her over-plucked eyebrows...and now leaves her fab face framers to a pro ONLY.
Here she is in a terrific Prada -esque pleated leather skirt she picked up at Zara.
Maybelline New York Makeup Artist Melinda Martinez chose a perked up our entire face ---lipstick for us... Vibrant Mandarin from the Maybelline New York COLORse Vivids collection. This bright deepish coral color (with a bit of blue undertones), is a moisturizing formula ---that lasted all day and enhanced our green eyes. NICE.
THANKS ALLURE!
at $4 apiece---we think of nail colors as an accessory that's affordable |
