Designer Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart |
A given at the Outdoor Retailer tradeshow we cover-meaning sustainable materials...and cradle to grave (so-to-speak)...traceability of sources to production to garment care-to re-purposed/recycle...a concept that barely gets a nod in the fashion world of things.

SO---nice to attend a very fun, packed show--- by WIllaimsburg, based designer Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart...a fierce animal rights activist who has conjured up a VERY wearable, collection of re-intepreted classics using performance wear staple materials from Polartec, 3m"s Thinsulate, and Teijin.
MEANING-highly functional windproof, breathable, warm outerwear pieces...chicly mixed with separates in bright colors made from organic cotton velvets, fleece/flannel, zero waste satins, soy fiber knits, and vegan tweeds...with vegan leather details...
BONUS POINTS-all production garments- NYC's Garment Industry... knits-made in MAINE

"Oh yeah, I'm girly," Hilgart noted..."but there's a lot of tomboy there too."
