Think Angelina Jolie as a for hired assassin living in the suburbs ---in the flick- Mr. and Mrs. Smith-versus her seemingly polished, twinset clad female neighbors.
Naturally-given the name-feathers are used---as well as detailed shimmery sequin appliqués, plush velvet and lace overlays...for day to evening blazer/gown combos-mini and fitted cocktail frocks, and strapless red carpet head turners= ensembles that really are all attention getters.
Very edgy glam -even the 'day looks'-chic boyfriend blazers paired with clingy gowns were techno wonders ---with sharp tailoring, (accentuated "pyramid" shoulders)---that worked well with the 'wild' graphic printed fabrics .
Feminine silhouettes too-especially the outs where a metal belt/bodice combo cinched in the waist-emphasing the model's hourglass figure.
We loved this---how refreshing...and so did everyone we talked with afterwards. Expect to see the rock and roll/hip hop gals (and their stylists) to start to favor these lesser known designers.
The opposite of wallflower minimalism---Falguni and Shane Peacock-designed- by a married duo featured stand-out ornate ensembles---using lavishly embellished fabrics---and grrrrl tough Dominatrex kinda styling (chrome bodice armor/black latex (leather?) gloves, spiky studded neck collars, metal belts--- in homage to a modern warrior/Super Hero woman who is very very sexy...and at ease with being noticed...versus maybe, the stereotypical 'soccer mom.'
