Performance wear with street curb appeal is available from a lot of labels, big and small. SO- newer labels need something extra- a design feature or proprietary fabric that delivers more than what's available already.
HOWLER BROS. "Heed(ed) The Call" to co-op their mantra---with some of the best collar tab tops for guys we've ever seen.
Founded by two pals, Chase Heard and Andy Stepanian, Howler Bros. tops reflect a passion for the coastal pastimes of surfing/fishing/paddling. we were wowed by a smartly cut, regular fitting Magic Mesh Polo, made out of moisture wicking poly---$65.
Details like a straight hem-you can wear it untucked and it doesn't look sloppy, three button placket, cool monkey Howler logo discreetly on front ...plus-diagonal wide band stripes=make this shirt different than the other dozens of functional polos hanging on a rack. Handsome too. Bummer no women's version yet---we could see wearing this to play golf-as a tall gal pal of ours did on a scorching day.
IMHO: Should make this shirt in team and college colors----
Another standout-the fitted, woven cotton ooly Aransas Shirt $65-with microfiber lined (sunglass friendly) pocket, coconut buttons---and a length made to be worn out. Hike in this---all day---and hit up hour hour anywhere afterwards...we think this is a great multi-tasking travel top.
ALSO: Loggerhead Longsleeve -a two coconut button Henley made of breathable poly, UPF 45, with a micro lined stash zipped pocket--- contrast piping at hem...and thumbholes--- great for cooler temps when on the water or out on the town. Well done.
A line of ultra soft cotton tees with flattering fits and screen printed graphics using PVC and phthalate free chemicals for guys and gals is available too. A bump up from typical basic tops---the contrast stitching and taped shoulder seams---elevate this everyday item from the usual fare.

BLOQ UV™- a line of contemporary fashion-y performance wear for men and women-hails from Miami where blocking out the sun's damaging rays- is year round required.
The stylish women's looks we saw- were all well-cut, feminine shaped---in very pretty colors----and had the all the details we need---flat seams for no chafing, thumb hole cuffs/extended sleeves for full coverage, functional pockets, and a rating UPF of 50-wet or dry...built into the weave so it never washes out.
Cute enough to wear out and about-we can see why this line is a big seller at upscale resorts.
Also Available: a slimming wide band waist, flare leg Booty Pant...in black-that goes with all the tops and jackets.
Price Range $62-$130 for zipped jackets.
