An American's practical sensibility (and FYI, a working mom)--- combined with a European mindset on how to communicate with color and elegant refined details… are character traits that have served Rebecca Moses well---
Her latest endeavor---
…an affordable, easy to wear, feminine collection of separates, dresses and accessories for Spring/Summer 2010.
“I decided that it was time for me to come back to fashion,” Moses told us during an editorial preview a few weeks back.
“Times have changed…women spend their money differently, it’s a high/low game that is all digested and understood.”
Building on the “Heart Soul Style” lifestyle brand---this collection of accessible chic delivers on
Moses goal to give gals a “sense of blind style…where someone can’t guess how much it costs.”
Case in point…a sassy frock sold with the necklace for $129. “I’m proud of this LBD,” Moses said.
We locked our eyes on an silk pink number ($109) and a fab purple silk taffeta skirt that looks like it should cost a lot more ---given the quality of the fabric and how well the clothes are finished.
Not a hanging thread or crooked seam anywhere!
Super soft tees ($59) are hand illustrated and look great dressed up or down with the shorts and sandals.
Other key separates… like a polished, beige wear everywhere staple, with rolled up sleeves and a feminine wrap belt...and a buttery leather jacket with hardware for that motorcycle edge is $399, the most expensive piece in the line.
A breezy white tops, with “a cool necklace”---the backbones of any summer wardrobe.
There are “a lot of delicious elements of well cut clothing,” Moses observed. “There’s a lot of value in the details.”
Many tops have sleeves that can be casually rolled up.
PLUS: Romantic polka dot eyelet ---hot weather perfect fabric ---
And the Ikat print in a layered tank, an “Ibiza” dress ...
(nice touch, a contrasting collar).
Colors (bold and subtle) are a hallmark of any Rebecca Moses endeavor…so along with the natural palette of many items…. we were really drawn to the hues that are BIG for Spring--- in an orange silk georgette top,
and the splashes of “luminous yellow” throughout.
Texture veers towards handcrafted elements that take a lot of work to look chic, not cheesy…as in the beading of this tank.
“The average retail price is $105,” Moses said. “I am proud of the collection…part of a bigger continuation of delivering stylish value---and of tools to work your style.”
“It’s all about understanding where we are.”
