We missed a Ladies Night at Burton Snowboard's SOHO NYC store recently...but vow to catch up with the apparel at the upcoming tradeshows CUZ we so need to see (wear) those protective padded- embedded basics...and helmets-that we don't wear now but will. Actress Natasha Richardson's untimely death---hitting her head on a bunny slope last ski season FREAKED US OUT.
What we did get to admire is the fashionable and functional uniforms set to outfit the USA Olympic team via our inbox.
A GOOD THING: A well financed fashion label did not make the attire as the team rider tested gear...really needs all those techy features that mainstream collections/designers don't get---IMHO.
PLUS; Love the Gore-Tex´fabric used that's breathable and waterproof. And adaptable for all the weather conditions that can happen atop Whistler mountain...all at the same time...like rain , snow and sleet...mashed up with powder and slush.
Style wise the looks are spot on...with vintage denim pants...and preppy plaid jackets with leather patches and chenille emblems.
Which may or may not matter to the snowboard team riders...but will definitely will matter to subway riders who covet the look.
