We slap on a lot of sunscreen--- in our search to discover effective protection made from ingredients that do not make us nervous.
With the name ELEMENTAL HERBS®---we had a basic idea that this youngish company (since 2005) would use good for humans- organic botanicals and herbs as the source for its healing and protective balms / creams.
But after our chat with the engaging founder, Caroline Duell, we liked the whole shebang ----from the mission “healing, farming, and human-powered adventure,” to company vehicles running on bio-diesel fuel…to packaging sourced from recycled materials when possible…and recyclable 100%.
As we were a tad scrapped up from a rock climbing jaunt, we got to meaningfully sample the “All Good Goop™” made from healing calendula…that quickly spared us from yet another permanent scar.
Other popular items that had OR retailers happy…are the moisturizing All Good Lips™/SPF 15 (with soothing organic olive oil and beeswax-in original, spearmint or orange flavors), and the refreshing Herbal Cool™ spray, that went on cool but heated up. Loaded with the known muscle pain reliever arnica---this item will be living in our gym bag.
NEW: We were really keen on trying out the new 25% zinc oxide sunscreens…that are blended with certified organic green tea leaves, rose hips, jojoba, shea butter and olive oil. Available as a Sport Suncreen (SPF 20), Tinted (light beige-SPF 25) and a Kid’s version (SPF 20) …the formulas are chemical free so we feel better, knowing we can scuba with it on and not add to coral reefs’ distress.
ADDED PLUS: Non-greasy…we tried the tinted version and it left a very sheer coat that actually lasted more than our usual 90 minute deadline.
