We were a tad perplexed by an early media call for the La Perla presentation---showcasing our favorite luxury lingerie brand…that was smartly scheduled during New York’s Fashion Week.

Well, it was already packed with photographers---most shooting for the international press--- when we got there ON TIME. Ha…we should have known.

For the stunningly glam collection, “La PerlaCreative Director/Designer Giovanni Bianchi sourced 1940’s Hollywood “Film Noir” ---dramatic mysteries…

---and the seductive, dark haired beauty from the iconic flick, Black Dahlia.

There are reasons lingerie prices vary greatly from brand to brand…

La Perla always uses the finest materials, and employs exclusive, processes including a new, laser cut technique with stretch tulle and laborious hand detailed embroideries---in this collection.

LA PERLA STUDIO:

This section of fab models sported “modern, dynamic, and metropolitan style” lingerie pieces.

Less frilly looks and no attachments--- make this collection easy to wear…and white and black elastic mesh (comfortable!)  and satin trim materials---help to give these pieces a youthful, urban flair. We thought…a lot of underwear as outwear here...like the black modal tuxedo pajamas with satin details--- and the "Grafic Style" black balconnet bra with stretch satin detail.

LA PERLA VILLA TOSCANA

Soft cotton and white viscose and modal are the predominate fabrics in this collection, with details in silk and satin. Italian cashmere knitwear and a practical tulle/stretch satin/cotton bodysuit are also part of the “refined mix of natural beauty and romanticism of the Tuscan atmosphere.” Not oh la la sexy...but still luxe for sure.
