GARMENTS, TOTES AND LUGGAGE

Filson has a rich heritage that churns out apparel that is authentically American…with details, style flair, and fabrics that stand up to the realities of 2010 lifestyles.

No wonder smart retailers carry select pieces…

Take for example, the best selling Dry Finish Tin Cruiser jacket, a classic from 1914 that  comes in a warm waxy wool...but gets refreshed For Fall 2010---in an 11 oz., 100 percent Cotton Dry Finish Tin Cloth with a double Tin Cloth layer on the back and upper half of the sleeves.  (Dark Tan-$195).

Pair it with the original Dry Finish pants now available lined with the same red / black fabric of the Alaskan Guide shirt.

We also saw the Whipcorder Weekender Jacket. With a clean silhouette and roomy pockets…we think guys can wear this versatile item outdoors and in when cooler weather beckons . New--- is the 17 oz, 100% Virgin Whipcord Wool material. And we really like the color options…dark green and forest green--- shades we predict ---will replace gray as the new black. Added plus: a seamless upper torso and sleeve construction and a storm flap.

PASSAGE LINE

Popular for all the right reasons…namely durable and quality…this line of Filson’s business perfect haulers is a light-weight response to the brand’s more rugged twill cotton collection.

Made from heavy weight 16.4 oz, 100% nylon 1050D twill, we love the new rollers, available in four models…a biz/computer bag with a padded laptop sleeve ($295), a 22” carry-on ($295), a 28” check-in bag ( Ha ha, dare we?)--- and two duffle bags a 28” size and a huge 31” that'll carry it all--- $390.

Colors… the basic neutrals…black, brown, otter green, and tan.

Our prediction for most needed Filson item…the handsome oilcloth cotton umbrella.

Also new for us…are the tote bags. One--- is made from Filson's signature whipcord wool and lined with oil finished dry shelter cloth…the same textile the Army used for tents. Available in the classic otter green and gray.

And in a world of hundreds of tote bags…this small tote is one of the chicest available…and with the outer pockets, can be an everyday carryall in all four seasons.

Made from 22 oz., 100 percent cotton Oil Finish Rugged Twill with Bridle Leather straps, there's a double layered fabric bottom gives this 12x12 hauler stability.
(Tan, Otter Green).

There are two a flagship stores in Portland Oregon and Seattle…but Filson is carried in many stores and online.

Worth seeking out---because as the company MO states… “MIGHT AS WELL HAVE THE BEST”

.

MAJOR BONUS POINTS: A Filson shoulder bag made the posh pages of Vogue Magazine’s Index section. We say, about time.
