Romona Keveza is thriving…

The talented designer targets the high end bridal market. Her collection is always for the “affluent customer” who wants a one of a kind heirloom made from a wide variety of luxurious fabrics… and with the highest craftsmanship and finishes.

Not the “aspiration” gal who lives on credit and is a very label conscious consumer.

SMART….”I learned from the big guys…James Galanos, Bill Blass…”

Needless to say, the gowns are stunning.

The runway presentation was a pleasure to see. Beginning with a retrospective of her classic gowns, the silhouettes proved once again that “modern” and “timeless” aren’t just tossed out clichés.

Fabrics ranged from the tried and true silk, silk satin, taffeta, and silk tulle…to silk chiffon because ”there’s a fluidity to it… (lovely voulant ruffles i.e.)

… that brides haven’t seen.” The assortment of textiles gives the bridal dresses-- a richness in depth--- and enhance the already flattering silhouettes.

What makes bridal gowns stand out form the crowd--- are the hand applied details…the appliqué flowers and petals, the re-embroidered organza lace, and some sparkle “for that girl who wants beading but in a softer way that whispers elegance,” according to Keveza.

Current styles ranged from a flattering one shoulder silk taffeta with a flowing skirt, to a gorgeous strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline featuring a drop waist that “you don’t have to be 5’8 to wear” to look good in.

The Legends is a line of bridal wear that gives gals a taste of couture evening wear…but "with flare and with a new, fresh looks."

The dresses of this “Joie de Vivre” collection is ideal for both city and destination weddings…

And is “playful and festive.”

What’s new is the use of elegant Point d’Esprit lace on looks ranging from “soft flowing A-line shapes to romantic modern ball gowns.”

WE LIKE: The trend towards pale tints including icy lilac or the ivory in a knockout silk shantung taffeta gown. ($3,370)

The eveningwear collection is a natural extension of Romona Keveza’s bridal collection. The luxe gowns and dresses are truly red carpet stunners…no wonder celebs from Angelina Jolie to Queen Latifah (in her Queen perfume advertisement)…have worn the label.

At the show, cocktail frocks in dramatic black and white- graced the runway.

Head turners…in a good way.
