The ORGANIC single vineyard Col D'Orcia Poggio AL Vento 2013 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva -on the left of the trio pictured above= delicious. Dry fruits, cinnamon-y, firm tannins-and a beautiful ruby red color, truly elegant, earthy...a sought out wine-even at this stellar wine tasting. Good luck finding it-we predict it's going to sell fast. SURPRISE-we loved the cabernets -blend NEARCO Sant' Antimo 2016 + in particular-the smooth well balanced -wood oak, black fruity single vineyard OLMAIA Sant'Antimo 2015 -too. Verbena Brunello di Montalcino 2015 and single vineyard 2015 Riserva are both on the dry-tannic side, imported by Regal Wine Imports. Retail prices will land these in the good value category of the legendary 2015 vintage. |

We really enjoyed the two Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello Di Montalcino 2015 (and the special "Pomona") we tried...both has deep berries, medium-full body firm tannins, with an appealing mouthful of textured chewiness. The former-pricing in the mid $30s-has an earthy licorice-chalkiness taste-the later had a bigger complexity. Both are age worthy up to 2025 (imo). Imported by FX Magner Selections |

love the rich ruby color.... |
The single vineyard
PALAZZO Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (2012 not pictured) and the 2013 both have dark fruits- spicy-transportive aromas- leaning on the bold full body side-palate wise so they are hearty food pairers. The older 2012 has licorice spice hints and is available now
here. BOTH-limited availability (1500-1800 bottles)...produced by a boutique, family owned winery that only releases this wine in stellar years. Imported by
Montcalm Wine Importers-the 2012 is available now
