Claudia Li NYFW A/W 2017

Artbeam Studios | 540 West 21st Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues)

Take me away to a different place and time,” is the theme of Claudia Li’s autumn/winter 2017 collection. By removing oneself from the physical present, you immerse yourself in the mystery and experience of becoming someone else. Travelling through this time tunnel the view encounters flashing visions... a thunderstorm, a pendulum, a female spy and a missing plane. Becoming lost in the mirage of occurrences, we allow ourselves to explore shapes, appearances and formulate abstract concepts.

Autumn/Winter 2017 can be seen metaphorically through the use of triangular shapes. Triangles, typically seen as a shape of mystery, are interpreted in lapels, sleeves, cuffs and layering details. New fabric techniques are introduced in the form of quilting and ruching, and water repellent pieces add a technical aspect to the collection.

Our fav-the solid color ensembles -particularly the cobalt blue-modern bold shade and stark white-yet the silhouette refs the formal styles of late 1800s-early 1900s -which we love, SO elegant.

Claudia Li expands the use of accessories to her lineup to include a new capsule footwear collection. A pair of pumps and booties with a three-inch heel are available in all white or black leather with gold hardware. Claudia also continues to stress the importance of details through the addition of a new set of trims, such as black horn buttons seen on several styles throughout the collection.
