Respected Women's Label Gets Re-freshed for Fall 2012/13 With Urban Friendly/ Outdoor Crossover Separates
It's been a few seasons since we last reviewed any thing by the formerly based in Vermont (now Boulder, CO)-ISIS brand of women's tech and lifestyle apparel.
Our memories were of perfectly serviceable and kinda pretty items---but nothing memorable that would entice our fashionista blogger pals -all based out of seriously outfitted, NYC.
What we previewed by ISIS for Fall 2012- in a quick mid-town meet a whiles back...has us impressed however...and signaled an obvious change in direction.
It was clear to us that the new (to us) ISIS is targeting the market segment for stylish/flattering/ active wear clothes...as defined/refined by the likes of luluLemon and Athleta... for the mountain to street set of gals.
PLUS: User friendly too---with apparel that's packable, easy care, and won't look dated in a year--- in a range of mostly autumnal tones that are wardrobe neutrals, really- with a few bold colors in the mix.
Standouts we saw---
Soft French Terry fabrics get prominent play in a bunch of really cute casual separates dubbed the ALLIE collection--includes ALLIE dress ($119) with curved shoulder seam, nice shawl collar, drawstring waist hooded jacket ($99) and drawcord waist cord skirt $59 with two front pockets that manage to lie flat...and a wide waist band that defines a gal's curves.
As comfy as regular sweatpants without looking sloppy...reminded us of Norma Kamali's original claim to broad shoulder pad fame. Make terrific travel separates too.
The LYN collection is ready for work easy wear ponte knits that can be mixed with dressier blouses/shoes/boots to amp up an ensemble. (Jacket-$69, skirt $65, dress $79-our top look with a hidden on-seam zip security pocket).
Colder temps get ISIS sleek city chic takes on outerwear-with a technical performance fabric (wind/water resistant) ---a hipster take on the classic pea coats...shaped for females...with cozy fleece lining.
Technical jackets and vests burst with vibrant colors and inventive quilting patterns in the SLIPSTREAM Collection (Vest-$159, Jacket-$229, Hoody-jacket with attached hood-car coat length $249).
Performance tough, these pieces are DWR anti-static, lined with down proof polyester and insulated with a toasty 800 fill power down...for warmth without the bulk.
Other features ---velvet lined collar for no-chafing, zipper garage, reverse coil front zip with no-snag draft flap, invisible zip hand pockets, internal mesh zip security pocket with snowflake earphone portal, Lycra® hand cuffs for excellent fit, and a draw cord hem that keeps the snow/wind/rain out.
We could see this as a loooooong coat in case we get one of those winters...
WHAT ELSE:
An intimates collection, an active wear body basics collection that are moisture wicking base layers, breathable and chafe-free---(Chantilly Foldover Turtle $75, Crew Neck $70, and Long Jane $70-pretty enough to layer with 'regular" clothes)...
ECO ALERT-ELEMENTS Collection (Tempest Jacket, Rainy Day Coat, Splash Jacket, Raindrop Jacket)-made waterproof and breathable, odor control, UVA/UVB protection- courtesy of Cocona®
