It was a buzzed about, night out on the town---the hip part of it...thanks to the fun setting for the LANDS END CANVAS collection-Fall 2012...the AvroKo Hospitality Group owned The Public...a multi-room event space. wine room/restaurant...on the LES.

LANDS END CANVAS takes the classic and well designed Lands End mindset---and adds a bit of youthfulness to it (not a children's collection)---meaning slimmer cuts, trendier silhouettes, and a bit flashier separates for party people.

A women's line that --say a mom would share with her teenage daughter...all grown-up but not so traditional as to be toooo old looking. Let's face it, even grandmas are cool looking these days.

BUT... still the same, value priced quality.

ribbed fitted knits---layer=able separates-autumnal tweedy tones

The preview was grouped thematically---dresses, knits, an entire part devoted to chinos pants...a holiday collection of warm clothing, and an evening group that was staged in the Wine Room on a table setting that had us wanting to sit right down, and sip up.

pleated skirts in bold color blocked patterns very chic-with blouses, sweaters, jackets---versatile and easy packing too

leather lace up boots hit just above ankles

all of these pieces are mix matchable-knit vest, pale denim washed dress, sailor stripe cotton top, green anorak

nice touch-leather belt with small wallet attachment

this print is fabulous...tabs for rolled sleeves

infinity scarf out of a chunky cable knit...pretty silk skirt and a wrap knit top...it works

practical yellow puff vest...over a soft knit, layered over a cotton L/S...half of a weekend wardrobe

opposite contrast lining

feminine tops-lacy knit...sweet floral print close with 3/4 sleeve

grey stretch pants get a bit of glamour-when theory are cut like knickers

two button waist band detail---adds polish to a usually sloppy but comfy item

Men get plenty of want it basics bumped up----L/S in great colors-plaids-washed cotton denim---slimmer cut paired with bold tone trousers---maybe the one part of an ensemble a guy will ake a chance with-besides his socks/ties-if he is wearing one.

cords in dark tones-go with everything

this sweater is a classic-thin knit...that a guy's gal will borrow

wool toggle cot-with rope toggles -a reference to Lands Ends nautical heritage-in a bright red

zips too-toggle coat is finished well

CHINOs are the new/old denim. This season out-Lands End Canvas offers several different cuts in a rainbows worth of bright colors...got khakis...check these out. We love!!!!!

cotton twill-fitted chinos...with great twisted leather rope belts....perfect

What to wear with chinos---of course, plaid, checkered L/S, cardigans and blazers-Lands End Canvas has preppy choices that aren't boring.

plaid, pleated front trousers...not for every gal- but done well here... we'd pair it with a fitted feminine top

this women's blue blazer is so well made...with striped lining in the sleeves so rolled up add so pizazz

Rugby bright, navy blue blazer, kelly green chino, yellow belt-looks pulled together ---no sunglasses necessary

Heading out...cute frocks, festive ribbed cardigans, dark denim, casual blazers, flashy scarves, natty ties...

Fair Isle knit cardigan gets the razzle dazzle with blue sequin...

winter without cords....no way. Loose preppy cut ---in brighter tones than the usual add some pop to the usual ensemble. Have fun with color this season...Lands End Canvas really gets that this season.
