A well-dressed crowd of supporters scooped up beautifully hand embroidered scarves, pillows covers and shawls ---and bid away all to support the non-profit Hands Afghan.
…An organization that enables Afghan women to gain skills, both life and work at sponsored centers throughout the country--- that help them to earn living wages and thereby sustain themselves and their families.
Hosts (and acclaimed actresses) Cynthia Nixon and Claire Danes both gave heartfelt speeches about the decades old war in Afghanistan on several fronts including the trauma suffered by women in a country enduring incredibly tough conditions and a repressive political structure.
Afghan Hands founder/Kabul native--- (and sought after celebrity and make-up artist)--- Matin Maulawizada ---also spoke passionately about the positive impact the organization has had on the self-esteem of women in that country.
Kudos to hosts Longchamp and Orlane who demoed the Crème Royale Cou Et Décolleté ---a rich anti-aging, revitalizing cream made from Royal Jelly fused with high tech plant-based components---that gradually release “intelligent targeting of active ingredients…” including the incredible antioxidant and protective 24-carat gold.
