Factory PR has a spacious Cast Iron District loft in downtown NYC, And they need it because this company reps a whole bunch of affordable and luxury brands.

As soon as we walked in, after a hello to the receptionist…our eyeballs locked on the Fall 2009 handbags, satchel, hobos, clutches and carryalls by the upscale European brand MCM.

No surprise, the logo laden satchel VISETOS VINTAGE in cognac, an iconic look- is the best seller.

New for Fall is the NIGHT TRAIN adaptable luggage, that inventively zips and expands to accommodate a suit. Great as a weekender or for longer jaunts as it’s got loads of inner compartments.

We appreciated how we could carry this onboard a commercial flight as it’s just the right size.

Other popular options are the leather embossed VINTAGE CROCO top handle tote or medium sized shoulder bag. A top pick!

And it’s nice to see the color pop---in a ginger orange and plum purple---shades in an assortment of MCM offerings.

TOP NEWCOMER: Zachary Prell

A former Wall Streeter, Zachary Prell knows the details necessary for the ne plus ultra tailored shirt that’s not baggy or too tight (uptight). His handsome button downs are well made, fit great (cut for an athletic build)…and importantly, have that office to night’s out swagger.

Prell’s shirts also sport ingenious finishes like a second button that’s higher up—so it’s tie-less friendly and wider cuffs (regular and French) for the big watches that guys wear.

Fabrics are cottony soft (with touch of spandex for shape retention) and the masculine palette ranges from solids with cool side stripes--- to masculine stripe patterns.

Nordtrom’s wisely picked up the line--- and smart boutiques (Bill Hallman, W Hotel Stores etc from coast to coast.

Damages- around $150-$198/shirt. And there are long sleeve polos too.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

NOLITA is a hip Italian line acclaimed for their denim---as well as a very controversial ad that appeared two years ago---

We focused on the Euro boho chic Fall lineup and thought the “Jacqueline Jacket” a Spanish armada cover-up and white lace dress as welcome additions to the sexy jeans in all the rinses, rises and cuts a gal could want. Available at YOOX

Antsy (L) and NOLITA (R)

ANTSY is known for their edgy graphics, free flowing tops. Jeans are also part of the lineup, launching in three categories:

Classic-boot cuts
Vintage-boyfriend and distressed
Luxe-Skinny

Nicely priced too $80-$100.

BLACK HALO has a large celeb following with its feminine modern classics that’ll work with all body types. Rompers and a fetching frock in tartan (MSRP$310) are highlights for Fall.

Widely available, the collection is priced right.

Acclaimed for their knits and signature totes outfitting Hollywood types and stylish feminine gals, Foley + Corinna (Dana, Anna respectively) has a four season knockout in a glam fushia ruched dress.

Draped attire with a vintage/modern flair ensure that their eponymous NY and LA boutiques continue to serve up the entire line---with numerous retail stores here and across the Pond in London and Paris carrying the collection.

Hailing from the land Down Under, Tigerlily is a “perfectly-imperfect” very sexy glam edgy line of sportswear that’s sure to gain followers in the USA.

Swimwear is a big seller (naturally) but we loved some of the Fall “boy meets girl” looks, particularly a gray fringed number with a hood.

Los Angeles based HeartLoom makes the kind of separates that the under thirty types are drawn to. Tanks, rompers, sweaters and a cute dress with mod studs on the sleeves are accessibly tagged between $50-$200.

There are versatile shirtdresses and cool denim looks too…perfect for that LA formal vibe.
Available at Singer22.com, Revolveclothing.com

Men get a bump up, dress-wise- with COMMONWEALTH UTILITIES. This made in Italy by Brit Anthony Keegan and Aussie Richard Christiansen …has great knits and solid separates…including a three-piece suit (sold separately), single lapel blazers, a swank black leather bomber jacket…and handsome trenches.

Kudos to the website that has the entire Fall/Holiday look book online. This is a duo we would love to grab a Pint with.

RARE denim is huge in Europe. For Fall 2009 the styles branch out to include wider cuts, boot cuts and fitted waists---with light to dark rinses.

RARE JEANS/ZACHARY PRELL SHIRT

Male undergarments get a jolt of color courtesy of Swedish tennis star turned designer Bjorn Borg (underwear, swimwear)

and the popular 2(x)ist (performance wear too). The later is super soft with cuts in 100% cotton and a smooth 96% Modal and spandex jersey.
