HEAD is a serious company-dedicated to bringing skiers/boarders the best equipment they'll ever need---on the mountain/race course/back country for snow sports (and summery endeavors too, fyi).

Where to begin-we started with the new race helmets-geared towards those with a need for speed.

Head has several shell materials---including the new Hybrid Shell construction that combines the tough ABS technology with the lightweight "light shell" that's in the  in-Mould helmets...

AND the new Respiro core used in the Stivot (pictured above) and Ventor helmet series---a lightweight EPS foam core that's perforated throughout for a comfortable microclimate inside the helmet...optimizing moisture management/breathable-so basically you don't have sweat dripping down the back of your neck. Who wants that?

Stivot-youth size-w/ thermal ventilation, beanie lier, goggle retainer-with a 2-D adjustment system  that maybe varied horizontally for individual adjustments.

And unlike some helmet liners that are 'shrink it - pink it' when it comes to helmets for the gals...Head produces female specific protection---via beanie liners exactly adapted to the female head with two differently thick padding zones made of soft microfleece.

Plus ---all linings blessed with the anti-microbial Agion™ silver particle ions loaded material that keeps odors at bay too...removable brims, and a techy Cone Head Sandwich Core that's a pyramid shaped, 2 layer shock absorbing standard in all HEAD helmets-...so that the impact energy is extensively distributed over the item---for greater protection.

integrated liner windshield lines up with beanie liner-can be folded down to close gap between helmet and goggles on cold days

height adjustable ear pads-patented means guarantees perfect fit and hearing optimized for the helmet-removable too for warm days-or for cleaning.

All mountain Crest (men's)/Carma (women's) helmets-offer maximum impact protection thanks to their HYBRID Shell and Conehead Snadwich Core, and comfy via the 2 zone ventilation system, patented height adjustable ear protection- and a 3 d fit that adjusts vertically and horizontally for an individual fit.

Goggles are getting very high tech enabled these days. New here---the Stivot Race Goggles-ideally matched in fit and design for the Stivot helmet series.

Stivot Race Goggles-(youth sizes, diff. color combos available) ...spherically shaped, sprayed polycarbonate double lenses-great visibility and anti mist + UV400 protection...silicon coated goggle bands for no sip grip on helmets. extra long spectator cord

We don't have an engineer's understanding of snowboards' construction details- beyond what we like to ride on, depending on the conditions.

Confident-ally speaking-Head delivers boards for all -including precision and predictable camber shapes (CAMBA)...great for carving hardpack, playful, catch free rockers (ROCKA-reverse cambor series with designs by Justin Kaufman/JustInk- for park fiends, and hybrid EVIL KERS FLOCKA/SHE'S GOOD FLOCKA boards (artwork by George Bates Studio) too. HEAD does make apparel---but we saw this very hip jacket at the ENK menswear tradeshow back in NYC...a collab with the menswear label GENERAL IDEA...(designed by FIT grad Bum Suk Choi, now into Big Apple who we have reviewed prior).
Old school in  a way-with color blocking, down insulation, adjustable hood (via toggles), side snap pockets, ribbed hem waist/cuffs

toggle and snap closures

These jackets were the best items we saw at those shows---and a fitting addition to  General Idea's Fall 2012 collection titled "After Games"-an homage to the hockey player's attire worn during the Olympics in 1968--- Grenoble, France.
