Mom's Magic Masala...is made of a splash of spices-gathered from a maybe not so secret now family recipe-that earned an impressive SOFI GOLD MEDAL at the recent Specialty Foods Fancy Food Show in NYC. The Fusion Spice Blend truly transports foodies to the exotic flavors of South+ Central Asia-without the airfare needed. On the heat scale-mild-medium-depending on the amount-what really stood out for us was the cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, carom seeds +black pepper -aromatic hits fused with sweet (ish) tropical mango+pomegranate and nutty -semi-sweet Fenugreek leaves-all important essentials of Indian cuisine. There is no way really-we could make this winning combo of flavors-ourselves. As suggested-a meaty rub or as a zesty worthy addition to seafood or vegetables (grilled portobello mushrooms)...will do---but we added a tsp of Mom's Magic Masala to that multi-tasking vegetarian tahini based hummus and another one-whirled into an easy to make- smooth cool cucumber yogurt blend ---then happily scooped both up with traditional Indian Naan Bread. |
AHHHH-the iconic 'Everything Bagel' that is the definition of THE perfect New York's culinary contribution to the USA (along with a slew of other interpretations of ethnic eats worthy of a city of immigrants)...just got a bit handier to conjure up-even without the acclaimed Big Apple water. La Flor...EVERYTHING BAGEL SEASONING combines-sesame seed, garlic, poppy seed, onion and salt-to dip bagels in post egg wash-pre-bake (recipe)...or for all purpose carbs' usage.
