Balmy weather and major celeb/pro-sportsters/fashion designers' turning out and up-plus shopper specials-bought the crowds out all over Manhattan.

USA Olympic Gold medal winner-Alex Morgan |
On Madison/Fifth Avenues section of the planet...the first stop was the elegant boutique of luxury Swiss watch brand
Giraud-Perrigaux .
The brand's well appointed multi-room NYC establishment -on 63rd/Madison (
reviewed prior)...was packed with a well dressed crowd, enjoying Chef Julian Medina's crafted appetizers and louis Latour wines---the noise level totally civil, filled with conversations about the wondrous gold timepieces on display.
As befitting its acclaimed, two(+) century's old heritage---(since 1791), keeping time for elites and accomplished individuals of the world---Giraud-Perrigaux
now celebrated the USA Olympic Gold medal winner,
ALEX MORGAN...
...the amazing 23 year old striker-who gave us all a heart stopping thrill with her 123rd minute header goal against Canada- in the recent 2012 Olympic Game's semi-finals women's soccer.
Talk about a looonnnggg stoppage time.
We got a chance to chat a bit with Morgan--who is very smart, well poised, and so we learned, works out 4/5 hours a day when the USA women's soccer team is in competing mode. PLUS-she can stand on a pair of strappy high heels for hours...another kind of challenging fancy footwork, we think.
VERY impressive. Now that the USA women's professional soccer league is no more...future play action might happen across the Pond...after the winning USA women's Olympic team finishes their road show. (To sell-out crowds, too!!!)
No doubt, where ever Alex Morgan ends up...she'll do
just fine.
Moving along, we almost passed the Scandinavian based
George Jensen boutique- famous for their high end jewelry, watches, cutlery and homeware- and now- was having FNO-ters, try on pieces of their cute and modern, Moonlight Grapes collection-and strike a pose with an incredible dog ---a Great Dane with the patience of Job. All for the chance to win a some glam jewelry---
Get it...
Grapes and Great Danes...there was even an open cart out front filled with grapes...at some earlier point in the evening. All eaten up...when we got there.
|
taking a rest on Madison Avenue....this is a big dog... |

Fratelli Rossetti |
Italian made, luxury shoes and select leather goods from family-owned,
Fratelli Rossetti---share the FNO evening via a celebration of the iconic Marilyn Monroe. Its efforts included four, always busy manicurists---at the back of the store.
|
biggest line we saw all night ---for the FREE double decker buses making stops at all the hot spots...courtesy of H&M. the guy in charge of line maintenance deserved his own Olympic medal of some sort. |
Fifth Avenue at 55th street was jammed pack...we know people who hired car service to haul them around town...propbably not a time efficient way of hitting the highlights...
|
We passed dozen or so people eating soft swirl ice cream cones...here's why. One smart guy---a Mister Softee entrepreneur parked at 54th/5th...probaby made a fortune. It was one hot night. |
|
Façonnable- bar set-up... |
|
French braids are a big trend this fashion season...they're baaack |
|
Nick Folk |
Très chic French lifestyle brand
Façonnable paired with Italian sunglass maker Italia Independent maker...for their take on FNO---with stars of the football field-both the American and soccer kind...
New York Jets TJ Conley and Nick Folk, NY Giants Zak DeOssie, New York Red Bulls Dax McCarty and Heath Piece (who could model himself, imo)... and the fab 2012 Canadian Olympic team gals- Kaylyn Kyle and Lauren Sesselmann...who should/could give lessons in how to pose for fans' Instagram andTwitter tweets. Those two are fun...

we are not short ( even wearing flat shoes)- but when we had our pic taken with these two...we came up to their shoulders. ..whereby they quipped "...oh. we're amazons." |
|
Zak DeOssie, Kate Hammond, Dax McCarty |
All looked great-wearing Façonnable of course. The guys, in particular really cleaned up well...seriously, we saw them when they walked in ---in their 'regular' clothes. And note how the clothes fit perfectly-and they vary in height/weight...well made/tailored.
