Our gal pal from LA is a big fan of Walter Baker’s eponymous collection…

A former finance guy turned CEO/Creative, Walter is POPULAR and found in the major department stores and boutiques apparently---

we were clueless…the label was launched in 1991.

And after seeing the runway show (long though)…we get it.

The feminine separates, jumpsuits, rompers, and dresses ---are for girls that want to have fun….but who don’t want to compromise on fabrics and the finished perfection of a well made item.

Side swept eighties hair, puffy sleeves, bubble silhouettes, one shoulder frocks, zipped jackets, and cute mini skirts hark back to The Breakfast Club era (we thought)…but with a 21st century viewpoint too. Especially the vests. Day to evening “…without popping a stick.”

The clothes aren’t dated are "sweet"---even a drop waist, bowed number gets roughed up.

Bright colors and oversized flower prints are summer ready…a touch of the exotic.

Cropped pants and a one piece = comfy casuals.

A few black pieces, a deep lavender and graphic prints gave an urban downtown vibe to some looks …

Clearly, Walter has an edgier side…as seen in this sexy strappy thing that Kristin Cavalleri from the Hills is wearing.
