GEREN FORD, FALL 2009

FEMININE CLASSICS TO KEEP FOREVER

MILK STUDIOS- WEST 15th STREET NYC

FEBRUARY 12th, 2009

Words, Images Judith Ecochard

Geren Ford designed by Geren Lockheart, 'upped it' for this Fall collection, full of mod womanly separates in superb soft wools and leathers. And what we think are her signature long scarves in printed silks.

Hailing form LA---we thought the ensembles in largely dark tones puched up with oxblood red and royal blue polka dot--- were decidedly urban sexy…especially the leather vest, ruffled tops, double side zipped front above the knee skirts, and some menswear inspired trousers and oxford button downs made.

As Ford, sporting a terrific haircut –clued us in…she was going for “clean, feminine, texture and volume…70’s, 80’s New York…and classics to keep forever.

One thing we like about this designer is that her clothes would look great on all body types…and that her staff are her fit models.

Ford’s favorite look…that whe would grab for a night out? Ours too…a chic black ruffled coverup.

MAKEUP: Love the makeup by Obsessive Compulsive, a professional line we have covered in our prior The Makeup Show clips. The models were airbrushed to perfection in a natural looking base…but the eyes were all rock and roll with Jet Set black eyeliner atop Ironic Blue eye powder. False eyelashes and a neutral shiny mouth via Latte Lip Gloss finished off the “amazing looks” according to makeup artist Stephanie Flor.

GET IT: David Klasfeldt, an owner of Obsessive Compulsive told us that ROUGE MAKEUP STUDIO carries the line.
