The Coolest Things We Saw At Outdoor Retailer Tradeshow Fall 2013-Part 1

Okay, in fairness we did not see everything offered by the 3000+ exhibitors at the most recent Outdoor Retailer tradeshow -that just wrapped up in SLC...BUT...
What we 'dubbed" the coolest---isn't for sale as apparel, footwear or gear---but a patented "...interactive showroom sales table"for Terramar Sports-encased inside clever warming stations...
...that's a giant flatscreen Samsung touch sensitive device-embedded with software that allows users to get off their feet, have a seat, ...and get the Terramar Sports product info, and follow-up actions in like a New York minute...via a special code on the hangtag of a particular item. With the functionalities of an iPad---meaning can move around screen things at will, change images up depending, etc.
Which is appropriate since New Yorker Jeff Danzer/President of BrandAxion-in cahoots with After-mouse-a Microsoft approved app developer, conjured up this interactive 21st century sales tool that, according to Danzer...
"... effectively showcase(s) our client’s products, while simultaneously streamlining the sales process. Until now, the sales cycle for new products can take several weeks- after the product is presented to buyers, a lot of time is spent following up, deciphering meeting notes, and re-sending product info. These tables take care of all the post-show effort and allow for quick and efficient follow-up.”
It brought to mind the Concept Korea presentation we saw 2 years ago as part of New York Fashion Week Fall 2012...appropriately enough with sponsor Samsung -a deep-pocketed South Korean company that's stealing Apple's thunder (and a clever ad campaign too)...whereby an interactive flatscreen laid out as a table was touchscreen sensitive too-providing designer info...and an embedded camera and keyboard for web addresses- allowing users to take a pic and then instantly post to their Facebook account, Tumblir -whatever---. Of course what amazed us most was the speed of it all-after all Time Warner Cable---had internet connectivity issues-to put it mildly...
To further quote the press release that spells it out better than we can summarize...
FYI future apps include placing orders right there and then, specifics on a retailer's inventory levels---and a virtual reality vision of how the product will look in the particular stores. Like Google Maps for store designers, we thought-in a way.
